Netflix Original ‘Willy and the Guardians of the Lake’ Leaving in April 2022
Netflix’s original has left Netflix with increased speed and joins the list of developing now is Willy and Guardians of the Lake: Tales from Lakeside Winter Adventure who departed in early April 2022.
Set to leave Netflix on April 1, a 70-minute feature film was produced in Hungary by Cinemon Entertainment and Vertigo Média-studio. The film was first released in December 2018.
This film flows on Netflix globally with the exception of Hungary where the film is produced. It was added to the service globally on March 27, 2020 which means that the film was only given to Netflix on a 2-year short license.
If you are an international animation fan, this is a military service given when we see the original Netflix departing, they rarely move to other platforms or available at VOD.
Why is a Netflix Original leaving Netflix?
Many original Netflix is actually not original netflix original (you can read more about various types of originals here) and in this case, Netflix only has exclusive distribution rights for the international territory.
Netflix puts the original all under the same banner is a problem in this matter and means that it is not clear to distinguish the title that will be on Netflix forever and only for a limited time.
This is not the first major animation project to leave Netflix. The small prince is probably the biggest animated film left so far and did it on May 2021.
