US says ready to become India’s reliable supplier, to counter Russia dependence
The United States repeats its objections to New Delhi which is sustainable as usual with Russia and says that it has clearly conveyed to India that the US does not think India must accelerate the import of Russian energy and other commodities even because they only import around 1-2% of their oil. The US stands ready to support India in an effort to diversify its import, said the White Jen PSAKI press secretary. On the question of whether the confirmed Ambassador in New Delhi came by persuading India not to be involved with Russia, Jen PSAKI said sending representatives of National Security Advisors Daleep Singh to India was an example of a variety of US channels to be involved. But US preferences are having a confirmed ambassador on the ground.
“This is a very important diplomatic position. We are also involved with countries through various channels. And obviously, representatives of our national security advisers only in India recently in recent weeks, conveying clearly what consequences of violations of sanctions will and what That mechanism, “Jen PSAKI said.
The statement came when the US has slapped new sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin, two daughters – Katerina Tikhonova and Maria Putina.
The United States currently does not have a confirmed ambassador in India as Eric Garcetti which should be the next ambassador does not have enough votes. According to reports, Biden can replace Garcetti nominations.
The US has repeated disapproval with Indian sustainable involvement with Russia in sectors such as oil and defense. During his visit recently to New Delhi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russia was also ready to discuss if India wanted to buy anything from Moscow in the midst of a global situation that was difficult to be caused by Russian aggression in Ukraine. US Defense Secretary Lloys Austin on Tuesday told the future, the US would want India to reduce Indian defense dependence on Russia. We are ready to replace Russia, he said.
