Liz Truss has 90% chance over ‘underdog’ Rishi Sunak to be next UK PM: Report
When the race to become the next British Prime Minister entered the last round, British Foreign Minister Liz Truss had been rated 90 percent of shots to replace former Prime Minister Boris Johnson as Head of the British Conservative Party and Prime Minister, according to the Smarkets betting company.
Former Finance Minister Rishi Sung and Truss competed on a six -week tour around England for around 175,000 Tory Party members.
The opportunity to become a prime minister has plummeted to 10 percent, said Smarket.
“When the race first narrowed to the last two, Truss was considered to be a favorite of 60-40 to win, but the possibility continued to move to him,” Matthew Shaddick, the head of the political market at Smarkets told Bloomberg. “Many estimate that Rishi Suna will be a better campaigner, but the Truss debate performance has defeated hope.”
However, Sadai previously admitted that he was an underdog in a race to become the next British Prime Minister but vowed to fight for each vote.
After Johnson was forced to announce his resignation on July 7 amid the scandal waves, party parliament members reduced contests from 11 candidates to Truss and Sung. The results will be announced on September 5.
Truss was seen as the strongest player in the BBC television debate earlier this week, according to the 507 member of the Tory Party member, a report by Bloomberg stated.
