Bhagwant Mann’s Oath As Punjab Chief Minister Today At Historic Village

KALAN KHATKAR: AAM AAM AADMI (AAP) Bhagwant Mann will be sworn in as Minister of Punjab in Khatkar Kalan, the village where Freedom Fighter Bhagat Singh was born.

Yellow Turbans, a trademark of Bhagwant Politician Mann Comics, filled the village ahead of the oath ceremony. Mr Mann, 48, will become the youngest minister of the youngest country since the 1970s.

AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, Head of Minister Delhi, will be present for the ceremony to swear.

AAP won a landslide victory in Punjab, won 92 seats in the Punjab Assembly 117 seats and redeemed the leadership congress. Mr Mann won with almost 60,000 votes in the Constituency of Dhuri’s Assembly in Sangrur Regency.

Mr Mann invited the Punjabs for his oath ceremony by saying that it was not only him, but three crore people would take an oath with him.

He also urged men to wear “Basanti (yellow)” Turbans and women to wear “Basanti Dupatta”.

Mr Mann resigned as Lok Sabha MP yesterday.

Speaking to reporters, he projected the trust of taking the ruling role of the punjab. “We know how to run administration. I have been a member (Lok Sabha) for seven years. People have chosen our government in Delhi. We have experience,” he said.

“Many veteran politicians have lost elections, and new people have won. I am sure new ideas will come in the state. There will be outside the box think in this government,” he added.

In the AAP storm in Punjab, the top congressional leaders, including Charanjit Minister Singh Channi, Head of Punjab Congress Navjot Singh Sidhu and former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, lost elections.

Officials expect more than three lakh people at the event. Complicated security settings have been made for the oath ceremony. Nearly 10,000 security personnel have been deployed for the event.
