Queen Elizabeth’s Funeral: These Are The People Expected To Be In Attendance
The funeral of the queen will be held in Westminster Abbey with more than 2,000 guests from all over the world and 500 nobles, the head of state and other high -ranking officials is expected to attend. This was determined to be one of the largest international events organized by the British in several decades. A BBC report said that the majority of leaders had been asked to arrive at “commercial flights and said that they would be mass issued from a site in West London”. The funeral will take place on September 19 at 3.30 pm (Indian time).
Who will be in attendance?
Royal family members from all over Europe are expected to attend the funeral. US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will represent the United States. The majority of the Commonwealth leaders will also attend the funeral, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese have confirmed their presence.
The BBC report said that other world leaders also accepted invitations including Taoiseach Irish Micheal Martin, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and Italian President Sergio Mattarella and European Commission President Ursula von Der Leyen.
South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro have also confirmed their presence, the report said. Also expected to travel is the Japanese Emperor Naruhito, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and French President Emmanuel Macron. President Droupadi Murmu will represent India.
Who will not attend the funeral?
According to the Times, Volodymyr President Zelenskyy from Ukraine will not exist in the midst of the ongoing war with Russia, as well as Russian representatives or Belarus will not.
There were no representatives invited from Myanmar, the BBC report said.
